It’s not very often that you visit Lundy when it’s not windy, it is a lump of rock stuck out in the middle of the Bristol channel after all but when it’s calm, it’s beguiling. All the noise is stripped away and you can hear the subtle sounds of the island, not just the shouters, although they are still there. And, the smells.
Seal breath, for example.
Seals at Tibbetts beach.
Green glass.
Early morning doorsteppers.
All calm in the bay.
All calm in the beer garden.
All calm in the hut.
Tibbetts sunset 2.
Old light light.
Happy place.
Pedigree falcon overhead.
Early morning east side.
Still in the bay.
And on westside.
Soay shedding.
Unexpected puffin.
Boys on the westside.
Looking cool, calm and confident,
in front of cheese shaped rocks.
Northend opulence.
Tibbetts gold.

From a fellow traveller to Lundy and Tibbetts, what a treat to be in Tibbetts in late June, long days and lots of sunshine. We blocked up with factor 50 spf on the face, then I then added 30 spf factor on any exposed skin arees. Just about enough for me, who has been outside a bit recently.
But it was a cautious tale to keep on top of the sunscreen and the mainly water hydration regime.along with loose clothing. We survived the longest day onLundy in red hot sunshine, for more than 10 hours. What a treat to to be out in shorts all day and evening, with no hot burnie problems. Then an extra bonus we were on Lundy
A rotten job but O was happy to sign up and give it a go.
