For the first time in ages I managed to sneak an afternoon on Exmoor. There was a nippy nor-west wind but it was beautifully clear beneath racing Cumulus clouds. I skirted the north edge of the moor from Brendon to Lorna Doone valley ending up at Robbers Bridge. Big skies and the emptiness of the landscape kinda instil a state of meditation and put things into perspective. Like Juno wandering the orbits of Jupiter….
I am delighted to report that the first of the heather is starting to flower, and the moor will soon be aflame. Also I stumbled upon these exquisite orchids, if anyone knows the name of this delicate beauty please mention in the comments below. I hope that you are viewing on a big screen; the experience is so much better. If you click on the pic you can make it awesome.

Most images straight outa the camera (except the last pic of Robbers Bridge that I fiddled about with in Photoshop).
