Prologue: The beech trees really are the star of the show at this time of year.

On Exmoor, Watersmeet is the meeting place of the East Lyn river and Hoar Oak Water. There is an old 19th Century fishing lodge that stands to bear witness of the ‘meeting’ and it’s just a short stroll from the legendary surf break of Lynmouth, through a magical and ancient beech & oak wooded valley. Needless to say at this time of the year, when autumnk colours are in full hue, it is immense.
