One day in Early May

Fine weather, flat seas and a Bideford sailing; perfect conditions for an impromptu sailing to show some Lundy-virgin friends the rock in all its spring glory. It was an early start and a calm journey over on the Oldy (MS Oldenberg) with relatively light manifest of 150, made up of a few stayers and the regulars, both groups can be distinguished by the amount of green clothing they wear. The Lundyites, however know the value of an extra couple of pounds sterling per hours (£p/h) on the island facilitated by the Taw/ Torridge estuary tides. Hooray.

First stop shop.

Narcissus and blue bells at the quarry building ruins.

Wheatear singing

Yellow (legs) and Pinks

The old golf course

Guillemot city

Puffins at Jenny’s Cove

Blue bells and Rat Island

Letterboxers at Quarry pond

Still early but not much action amongst the pinks at the Battery until this traveler turned up,; Whimbrel heading north to Iceland for nookie.
