being there.

Soft and warm the first thoughts of awareness

Drift into consciousness with a background thump of

A new hangover behind my eyes and in my dry throat.

Your yielding body pushes against mine and,

Your smell fills me with silent smiles.

I keep my eyes closed for another minute

Savouring the flavour of this snug moment:

Unconditional and unbridled. Unhindered

By past and future

Just now.

I’m not quite sure why but now that I’ve re-read it i think I might do a last minute edit and squeeze it in there
