The highest point on Exmoor (and Somerset) is an ideal winter wander. Dunkery. It’s either in cloud and mist and you cannot see the expected views of Bodmin or, it’s in cloud and mist and you ….. etc etc

To the north is the ancient Horner Wood and dramatic vistas whatever the weather .

And a host of ideal farmsteads. But. Don’t even think about it: You can’t work hard enough.

To the south of Dunkers and towards the village of Weddon Cross is the mystical valley of Snowdrops. A forgotten part of Exmoor that hosts a million or more snowdrops during February whether it’s misty or not.

It’s like fairy land.
