Spring on the Rock

Back to Lundy island for a spring visit on the helicopter, it’s been a wet winter and conditions on the Rock reflected those on Exmoor; wet, wet, bog and more wet. There are however, signs that spring is in the air with mild temperatures, daffodils, blackthorn blossom and puffins!

This years accommodation was in the Castle, it was nice to tick off another one of the places to stay on the island making it eight different ones for me, with fifteen to go, however with over 25 stays in Tibbetts it’s hard to move and everything is probably unfairly compared to the old granite Lookout*, (*which incidentally appears on the cover of the new Lundy 2025 calendar). Castle Keep South verdict: Surprisingly warm, spacious bedrooms, lovely big kitchen and as one of the more affordable properties it is an ideal introduction for families and those of us who are skint.
