Autumn is a golden time for landscape photographers and here in North Devon the stars of the show are the mighty beech trees, especially on the top of Exmoor. As always you have to dance with the weather and an early season gale can strip the trees of all their jewels.
This year, here in Woolacombe, we have been treated to an amazing fortnight of still weather, warm winds, mist, pumping surf and the occasional blazing Baggy sunset.
As usual at this changing of the seasons, there are colds and flu that seem to affect the male population disproportionately.
The remedy, as it is with many things, is to get outdoors.
For me , it’s with a camera.
And with conditions like this.
It’s easy to feel the joy of autumn.
Return to Robbers’ bridge.
Different angles.
And the classic; wet-feet shot.
Details.
Still and misty.
With the occasional blue sky afternoon
And time for melancholy reflections of the year nearly passed.
And finally Larkbarrow; Quintessential Exmoor .
Thank you.
